About DoST

The Department of Science & Technology and Information & Technology was created in October 2003 under the National Policy on Science and Technology.  The Directorate of Science and Technology (DoST)  was established in December 2006 with the joining of the start up team comprising of Director, Deputy Director and Assistant Director with a small start up support staff.

Director S&T was notified as the Head of the Attached Directorate. The DoST has been mandated to promote and develop science and technology in every sphere of life in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 

The DoST can be defined as ‘an impartial platform for dialogue and action'.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can rightly take pride as it is the first province to have created the Directorate. Anything the Directorate does will become precedence for other provinces.

The DoST has currently been housed in a rented office in Deans Trade Center Peshawar, Sadar Cantt.(Office No: Suite TF : 250, Floor No 3rd) .

    The Directorate of Science & Technology (DoST) under its development project “Human Resource Development through Skill development programme/ Training” intends to conduct a “Feasibility Study to identify and Analyze the gaps in the existing Human Resource Development (HRD) activities carried out at S&T related institutional/ organizational level in order to build the capacities of individuals as per market demand and to make them capable for the global competition”
    The study is planned to be conducted by a consortium including Academia, Industries and a foreign consultant having clear track record in scientific research, surveys, economic analysis & planning.
